Flattery................Flattery

Let's scan the book of Daniel, chapter 6 (Old Testament)
How will you stand against flattery?
King Darius had a great kingdom, I mean, King had big things poppin'....to help him rule, he had 3 men who were his main boyz along with ...his crew and one of them had the name of Daniel. The King's crew took care of the King's bizzness, like it was their own. He didn't have to be bugg'n over dumb stuff...'cause his boyz had it....... the way it should be.
Now his boy, Daniel...really kept things tight....and the other two...were hate'n 24/7
One day, they were sick and tired of Daniel being like money, they hooked up with all the rest of the crew that worked for King Darius and started flappin their tongues 'bout how to take Daniel out. They had decided that this was the only way. Daniel had to be deactivated. Problem was...Daniel was like ice, brilliant, shiny and worth a lot to King Darius. To make matters worse, Daniel was proper in all his dealings....make'n it hard to build a case against him.
After spending a minute trying to figure out how to dismiss Daniel and getting nowhere, they finally realized the only way to take him down would have to have something to do with the laws of Daniel's God.
So they decided to play King Darius. They jetted to him and said, "King Darius, you are all that, I mean, when it comes to being King....who got it like you?.....No King anywhere the world can roll like you do...you have no contenders...Now, we all got together and were thinking.....that you, King Darius, should place a law that for the next 30 days, no one, absolutely no one, should pray to any God or man....except to you! And if they do, they should be thrown into the lion's cave......." And so, King Darius, blown up by lies & tricked with flattery, signed the law, not knowing it would kill off his boy, Daniel.
Now Daniel, well, he heard about the law, but he feared God more than the King's law. So just like clockwork, he prayed, just like always, three times a day to God Almighty. He didn't try to hide it or apologize for it, there was clearly no shame in his game, whatsoever ( Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but those who trust in the Lord will be kept safe -Proverbs 6:5 ) So the hata's of Daniel, went to King Darius and said, "Yo, King.....Didn't you put law on your word that anyone who prayed to God or any man otha than you, would be a value meal for the lions?"
King Darius replied, "Tru." So then they brought to the King's attention that his boy, Daniel, had messed up, thrown the King to the curb and bowed to His God. They reminded King Darius that according to the law He set,
Daniel had to be terminated. King Darius was heated and hurt. He wanted to get Daniel out of this, but he could'nt 'cause he could'nt break a law that He himself set into motion. The King ...had been tricked by flattery.
So, in keeping with his law, he sent the hata's to get Daniel and throw him into the lions cave. As Daniel went, King Darius gave a holla to Daniel and said...."Daniel, may your God, who you are down with, free you from the cave before the lions eat you up!"
The men put a stone over the entrance of the cave and the King stamped it with his royal ring & the rings of his boyz....to seal the deal. King Darius spent the evening without eating & no social dealings whatsover. He didn't fall asleep, not even for a minute.
Now in the morning, King Darius got up and ran like water to the cave, he kept calling Daniel's name like he was crazy...He said, "Daniel! Wassup wid you?.....Has your God, whom you are alwayz 'bout it wit, been able to rescue you from the lions?........Daniel holla'd back, "Oh, King, you know it!~" My God sent His angel to shut the grill of the lions. They have not touched me, because I am not wrong in your eyes, nor have I been wrong towards you."
The King was beside himself with joy, ...He got Daniel out of the cave....and then he flipped the script on Daniel's haters' and had them thrown into the cave, giving the lions plenty to chew on.
So King Darius made a new law....it went something like dis......Everyone....Everyone must give props to the God of Daniel....for He stays on top!
